Baccarat
Baccarat is one of the most popular casino table games. Baccarat has become even more popular after the appearance of its web alternative – online baccarat. Baccarat is simple to master, fun and easy to play. Baccarat is regarded as being one of the most sophisticated table games in casinos.
Baccarat is actually one of the easiest casino table games to learn. To begin the baccarat game, both the baccara player and the banker are dealt two cards face down. The next move in baccarat depends on the cards in their hands. In Mini Baccarat, which is the only version most of us will ever see in play, you don't even get the option of handling the cards. In the "whale" baccarat table games of European Baccarat they get to mangle the cards whenever they like just for personal entertainment.
The basic rules for baccarat and online baccarat are mostly the same. Play begins by all baccara players betting either on the Player, Banker, or Tie. Bet on the Player, gives a house edge of 1.24%. Bet on the Banker's hand gives the edge of either 0.6% if there's a 4% house cut or 1.06% is the cut is 5%. Finally, the Tie bet gives the house almost a 5% edge (Pay 8:1) and at worst 14+% (Pay 9:1). So, for obvious reasons the Tie bet is not advantageous for baccarat players, unless some specific baccara rules exist in a specific casino.
After all bets are down the baccarat dealer gives two cards each to the player and the banker. The objective of Baccarat is to draw a two- or three-card hand that totals closest to 9.
Baccarat Cards values:
-10, Jack, King, Queen count as 0;
-Ace is 1;
-All other cards have their face value.
The score of the hand in baccarat is the right digit of the total of the cards. So, if the total is more than 10, just drop the ten. Therefore, there’s no such thing as a "bust" hand in baccarat . For example, if the two baccarat cards were an 8 and 7, then the total would be 15, and the score would be a 5.
Payoffs in Baccarat
-If the bet on the Baccara Player wins, you are paid 2 for 1 winning on this bet;
-If the bet on the Baccarat Banker wins, you are paid 2 for 1 minus 5% (or 4%) bank commission (vigorish);
-If both the Baccarat Player’s hand and the Banker’s hand have equal totals, the Baccarat game result is a ‘tie’ and the payoff is 9 for 1.
Baccarat Table
As baccarat belongs to the table games, learning about baccarat requires understanding what you're looking at as you place your bet – the baccarat table. The baccarat table layout is fairly basic, and is very easy to get used to. As baccarat is the game with only three bets, banker, player and tie, the baccara board must reflect this simplicity. There are seven numbered positions on each side of the baccarat table. Notice the numbers run from one to fifteen, excluding thirteen. As in many gambling style table games the unlucky number 13 is excluded from baccarat boards, and baccarat is a lot about luck. Each position on baccarat table has three betting areas associated with it, corresponding to the possible choices at the beginning of each baccara game. Baccarat banker is spelled out across a row of betting areas, below which Player is spelled out. Above both of these bets, and occasionally above another row of indication numbers, there is a central area for tie baccarat bets.
On a full Baccarat table, three dealers work the game at all times, performing in a manner functionally similar to craps dealers. Two Baccarat dealers (position 1 & position 3) either sit or stand beside the chips on one side of the baccarat table. Each of these baccarat dealers takes care of the player's bets on their end of the table. The baccarat caller (position 5 - functional equivalent of a croupier) stands in the middle of the table on the opposite side from the baccarat dealers, and makes calls on the hands. They also direct the Baccarat game-play around the baccarat table. As the bacarra players are the ones dealing cards in baccarat, you can imagine the casino pays mighty close attention.
Mini Baccarat Table Layout
The mini baccarat board is basically one end of the full baccarat game board, with the essential baccarat dealer features tacked on to the top. Fashioned like a blackjack table of about the same size, there is only a single dealer in mini-baccarat who takes care of all processes, including baccara banker. Just like the full baccarat board there are seven areas around the outer edge of the Baccarat table, each with three possible spots for betting. The shoe and chips are positioned on the mini baccarat table in a manner similar to blackjack tables. The unique area of this baccarat board is the commission boxes and the area beneath them where the baccarat dealer places the dealer and player hands. To place your bet at a mini-baccarat table simply put your chips down in the circle representing either baccarat player or banker, or on the number in the tie betting area.
